Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Children's Nurse with a passion for education and supporting learners and staff in clinical practice to join the Corporate Nursing Education and Practice Learning Team as a Clinical Placement Facilitator (CPF).

This is a key role which supports the Practice Learning Leads in ensuring a safe practice learning environment for our Student Nurses and Midwives whilst on placement in UHL. Of equal importance is advising and supporting our practice assessors and supervisors in their role supporting students. A key aspect of the role will be to support our clinical staff to embed the coaching model of learner support in our clinical areas.

Main duties of the job

To apply you will be an experienced and clinically competent Registered Children's Nurse who has completed a period of consolidation post Preceptorship, possess a first level Degree or equivalent and have evidence of continuous professional development within your current speciality.

You will be able to describe how you have personally and professionally developed over the last 12 months and how you have contributed to ensuring a positive practice environment for students and learners during that time.

You will have undertaken Practice Supervisor and Practice Assessor preparation or hold a previously recognised NMC Mentor qualification

The post will require you to work in collaboration with universities and other NHS providers across LLR, quality assuring learning environments and working creatively as a team to expand placement capacity and ensuring students and practice assessors / supervisors are supported. There may be a requirement to travel to placement settings across LLR to visit learners, assessors and supervisors in practice areas.

The post holder will be required to meet the ever increasing need to work flexibly and across boundaries and this may mean you are asked to support the delivery of clinical teaching to the wider nursing and midwifery workforce.

  • Ensure that all tasks are carried out in accordance with procedures, guidelines and policies.
