An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual passionate about cancer services to join UHL's Cancer Centre team as the Macmillan Deputy Lead Cancer Nurse

In the role you will deputise for the Macmillan Lead Cancer Nurse specialising in the field of cancer care, leading, influencing, developing and expanding cancer services throughout the Trust and strategically influencing the direction of cancer nursing.

You must be able to demonstrate commitment and drive, along with excellent communication skills. Being a flexible and adaptable compassionate leader is also essential to the role as is being a team player.

Main duties of the job

You will work collaboratively with a variety of health care professionals from primary and secondary care settings, Integrated Care System, NHS England, EMCA, patients, their representatives and external agenciesto ensure the delivery of cancer services within the Trust are consistent with both national and local strategy, to include relevant governance, quality and operational frameworks.

Responsible for the development of a high quality, effective and efficient service to patients and healthcare professionals through leadership and supervision, robust clinical governance and education.

Support the East Midlands Cancer Alliance transformational projects to support the delivery of the Personalised Care agenda, along with other initiatives alongside the Macmillan Lead Cancer Nurse.
