Job summary
UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS OF LEICESTER NHS TRUSTSpecialty Doctor in Ophthalmology General and Non-surgical GlaucomaApplications are invited for the permanent post of Specialty Doctor in the department of Ophthalmology with a special interest in General Ophthalmology and Non-Surgical Glaucoma for High volume low complexity working.
This is permanent replacement post which will enhance the current establishment of NHS and academic staff of the Department of Ophthalmology.
Main duties of the job
The successful appointee will be expected to participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and clinical audit. They will be required to undertake management duties and work in a multidisciplinary team. The appointee will have a principle interest in Gen Ophthalmology and Glaucoma, and they will be expected to contribute to the General Ophthalmology and emergency service on the Leicester Royal Infirmary (LRI) site and associated community hospitals.

The appointee will join an active and enthusiastic team of 27 Ophthalmologists, both generalist and sub-specialist Ophthalmology services are provided within the UHL.
1 Emergency Eye Casualty session is mandatory for all posts within Ophthalmology AT uhl.
