Job summary
The Trust Grade Doctor will be expected to attend the outpatient Lipid clinics (Friday mornings and afternoon at Glenfield Hospital). The appointee is expected to contribute in running the services of Lipid Virtual Clinic (at least 2 sessions per week). The person is expected to attend the day ward where dynamic function tests are performed (Thursday morning Leicester General Hospital) They will be the duty biochemist for one day a week and help in the laboratory in method validation and other relevant areas for one day a week (LRI). The Trust Grade Doctor will help liaise with the ward Medical Staff and follow up cases of biochemical interest under the guidance of one or other of the Consultants.
The doctor can get involved in research. There are excellent opportunities that will lead to high impact papers. The above is negotiable and part time working is available.
Main duties of the job
The main role will be undertaking lipid clinics and helping to conduct day ward and laboratory work. There are no on call commitments. This opportunity would suit a full time or 0.8 WTE
