An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced pharmacist to take forward the work of the Leicestershire Interface pharmacist whilst our current post holder is on secondment.

You would be working across the Leicestershire community supporting the work of the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR) Area Prescribing Committee, to maximize clinical and cost effectiveness of prescribing. This involves working with prescribers across University Hospitals of Leicester, Leicestershire Partnership Trust and primary care within the LLR ICS.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a team member to work across the interface between primary and secondary care within the LLR ICS. The focus of this role is work with others to promote rational medicines prescribing across the Leicestershire health community and to encourage safe, appropriate and economic prescribing for patients.

As part of the role you will act as professional secretary for the monthly LLR area prescribing committee meeting and following up actions of this committee to ensure timely work completion. You will also work closely with ICB medicines optimization team, Formulary pharmacist and Therapeutic advisory services secretary to ensure a smooth patient experience across the interface.

We are looking for someone who is adaptable, flexible and have high standards. The role requires good interpersonal skills to work with various teams across interface, ability to manage workload as well as sound judgement and problem-solving skills.

Prior experience of working in either primary or secondary care is essential, but with the knowledge that some learning will be required for the other part of role. The right candidate will be a fast learner with a great attitude and an adaptable nature.
