Job summary

The Clinical Decisions Unit (CDU) is a busy assessment area that caters for patients with Acute Cardiac and Respiratory Conditions. CDU admits patients from Bed Bureau, Accident and Emergency and direct admissions via 999. This is a lively busy unit with many learning and development opportunities and is under expansion.

We are looking for dynamic forward thinking, highly motivated individuals to join our team of advanced health care assistants. You will need to have previous experience of working as a health care assistant within a hospital environment, and have a desire to progress with a career in health care. Skills in Venepuncture, Cannulation and ECG recording would be an advantage although relevant training will be provided to enhance skills to a specified level of competence. This is a unique opportunity to work in a demanding and challenging environment.

You must be committed to high standards of care, have excellent written and verbal communication skills and flexible regarding shifts as internal rotation is an essential part of this role.

Main duties of the job

Provide clinical and non clinical support to the Multi Professional team under the direction of an appropriate Registered Health Care Professional.

Deliver direct and indirect care as delegated under the direction and supervision of an appropriate Registered Health Care Professional.

Support the delivery of effective healthcare to patients/ service users by undertaking duties as identified by the Multi Professional Team.

Undertake specified and unsupervised aspects of care and therapeutic intervention as delegated by the Registered Health Care Professional within an agreed protocol, sphere of responsibility and after completing appropriate competency based training agreed by the Trust.
