Consultant Medical Oncologist (Colorectal and Gynaecological Tumours))
Following some significant investment in our services, we are expanding our teams including with two additional Medical Oncologists and one new additional Medical Oncologist, to meet the increased demand. This Medical Oncology post will be based at Leicester Royal Infirmary potentially with clinics and MDTs at Glenfield Hospital and Leicester General Hospital, but provides advice across the whole Trust and for the community.
UHL is a very large acute teaching Trust in the East Midlands with over 17,000 staff and all major specialist services. We also carry out tertiary and quaternary services.
Main duties of the job
The Oncology Department offers a comprehensive service to these groups of patients including chemotherapy, targeted agents, complex IMRT and stereotactic treatments. The treatment of all cancers is becoming increasingly complex with an increase in the options of radiotherapy and systemic therapies available. UHL has a comprehensive trials unit and delivers all the up to date cutting edge treatments.

- MBBS or equivalent
- GMC Registration with a licence to practice
Desirable
- Higher degree eg MSc, MD, PhD or equivalent
Experience

- Management of Medical Oncology pts from the relevant tumour sites
- Experience of working at Specialty or Specialist Doctor or Registrar ST5/6 level in the NHS
- At least one year's experience of working in the NHS
