We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 OT to join the dynamic and expanding Paediatric Therapy Team based at Leicester Children's Hospital.
We are looking for a passionate and motivated Occupational Therapist with an interest in working in acute paediatrics and someone with excellent communication, prioritisation and organisation skills to join our Paediatric therapy team at University Hospitals of Leicester.

Main duties of the job
The Paediatric Therapy Team of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists, works with patient's within the Leicester Children's Hospital. In this post you will work with children from 0 - 16 years of age (19 years if a patient has complex needs) with a variety of medical conditions and needs. The Paediatric Therapy team works across a wide range of specialities including Paediatric intensive care, respiratory related conditions, high dependency, cardiac services, Surgical and Medical conditions, Trauma and Elective Orthopaedics, Oncology, Neurology and Children with Long Term Ventilation needs.
You will have many opportunities to develop your clinical skills within paediatrics as well as your supervisory and managerial skills, supervising junior staff and deputising for the Band 7 Clinical Specialists when necessary. You will work alongside an established team supporting a Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist, Band 6 and a rotational Band 5 based at Leicester Royal Infirmary. There will also be the opportunity to work with the Band 7 and Band 6 based at East Midlands Congenital Heart Centre.

- To work with the Clinical Specialist OT to ensure the delivery of Occupational Therapy in the Paediatric Team in an efficient and effective way within a fast and pressurised environment.
- To increase and consolidate existing clinical knowledge in a specific clinical setting
- To develop basic managerial and supervisory skills

- To work with patients, carers and their families in a sensitive and professional manner
- To liaise with other professionals for the benefit of the patient
