Staff Nurse - Lincoln Renal Unit

At LIncoln Renal Unit we offer both outpatient and community based renal replacement tharapies for a large cohort of patients. The post advertised will be in the outpatient dialysis unit based in the grounds of Lincoln County Hospital offering dialysis to 75 patients 3 times a week.

The unit currently operates Mon - Sat 07:00-23:00 (only Sunday opening is over the Christmas & New year period when we close on Christmas day and Boxing day).

The shift pattern is either 3x10hrs & 1x7.5hrs or 5x7.5hours. We are aiming to open a nocturnal dialysis shift where an average of 2 nights a month will be anticipated.

Previous Renal experience is not essential as on site training is offered during a super nummery period along with the opprotunity to attend the renal study run by Leicester.

Main duties of the job

Perform comprehensive assessments of patients' nursing needs and plan, implementand evaluate care delivery according to changing healthcare needs.Take responsibility for the care needs of individuals and groups of patients.Collect, collate and fully accurately report patient information, maintaining accurate,complete and contemporaneous nursing records.Involve patients and carers/relatives in the planning and delivery of care.Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to ensure needs are met in relation to care input, support for ongoing care needs and safe discharge.Establish and maintain effective communication with patients and carers/relatives.Recognise, prioritise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situation.
