Job summary
The Volunteer Facilitator will need to be able to recruit, motivate and support volunteers to offer a full range of support services to improve the patient experience both whilst in hospital and to prepare for discharge. They will need to form good working relationships with Ward/Department Staff and Multidisciplinary Team: and promote the role of Volunteer Champion.
Main duties of the job
To recruit, support and retain a team of volunteers in supporting patients in a number of different ways within Wards and Departments across the hospital sites
To provide basic training and support for volunteers in delivering safe and appropriate services for patients.
To work with staff in all relevant areas to maximise the potential of all volunteers in the provision of support service for patients.
This post will include multi ward and Clinic working and will based in the Volunteer Services Team.

- Evaluate and collate information in order for volunteers to be utilised to their full potential in the ward setting and Clinics.
- Ensure that appropriate volunteer support is available to meet the needs of patients on the wards and Clinics
- Ensure that staff are aware and feel confident in utilising the skills of volunteers to support patients on their ward and Clinics

- Ensure that the supervision process is used to reflect and review practice.
- Ensure that duties are not undertaken if they are beyond the competence of the post holders level of experience or qualification.
