Job summary
An exciting opportunity has opened up within Leicester Royal infirmary's (LRI) Trauma Theatres. The post holder will become the Team Lead for the theatre Trauma team, leading a highly skilled group of theatre practitioners and theatre support staff while liaising with the wider Trauma service.
LRI theatres is an exciting and forward thinking department lead by senior nurses and ODP's. The successful candidate will need to be dynamic, hardworking, and enthusiastic, with a willingness to lead from the front.
You will be responsible for setting the standards and supporting your team to deliver these, sharing the Trust's values and ambitions, with the patient's safety and experience at the forefront of what you do. You will also cover as a part of a team leader rota, the floor control role, coordinating the daily theatre activity and providing a direct line of contact for wider site and trust wide actions.
You will also need to be flexible, fair, adaptable to the changing needs of the service. In return we will provide close supervision, training and development opportunities and everyday challenges.
A minimum of 2 years' experience at Band 6 level (or equivalent), including leadership and management skills, as well as being able to establish credible working relationships quickly and hold excellent organisational skills are essential.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for setting the standards and supporting your team to deliver these, sharing the Trust's values and ambitions, with the patient's safety and experience at the forefront of what you do. You will also undertake the role of floor control, coordinating theatre activity to cover 24/7 service delivery and providing a direct line of contact for wider site and Trust wide actions

Provide direction, effective and inspirational leadership to all members of the multi disciplinary team within the area for which they are accountable.

Act as an expert clinical practitioner providing through themselves and their Trauma team an excellent quality of care to patients and service users.

Act as a clinical and managerial role model within the Trauma team, CMG and across the wider organisation/Division.

Take responsibility for the provision of a supportive learning environment for all students on placement and newly appointed staff within the Trauma team for which they are responsible.
