Job summary
We are delighted to be able to offer a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced registered nurse who has an interest in cardiology, and wants to develop their knowledge whilst working within a specialty. Ward 32 is a 20 bedded elective and short stay cardiology ward with an additional ambulatory clinical area that cares for both elective day and short stay cardiology patients. The type of patients we look after are those who are attending for procedures such as angiograms, PCIs , pacemakers , electrophysiology studies and structural procedure patients such as those undergoing trans aortic valve insertion and mitral clips, and corrective procedures for congenital heart defects. We also care for short stay cardiology patients with a range of cardiac problems.
We are looking for a kind, caring and compassionate, forward thinking individual with a keen interest in caring and managing patients' pre and post cardiac procedure. Working within a supportive team on Ward 32 will give you the opportunity to gain experience, skills and confidence into the management of short stay cardiac patients and you will have the opportunity to gain some insight into the Angiocatheter suite .
Within the departments we pride ourselves on supporting colleagues therefore please note that full training and support will be given to the successful applicant. In-service training and clinical supervision across all areas.

Main duties of the job
Our focus is to proved high quality care to our patients, many of whom have complex cardiology conditions. We are looking for enthusiastic, flexible and dedicated registered nurse with a strong commitment to professional development and a passion for cardiology.
Excellent communication skills are essential as you will be working closely with the wider multidisciplinary team including cardiac physiologists, radiographers, specialist nurses, medical colleagues and admin staff.
