Job summary

We are looking for candidates to join our bank team.

We have the ideal opportunity for you to join our team working within our Retail Department across our 3 UHL sites in Leicester.

The successful candidates will be required to be able to work all their shifts, which includes unsocial hours across all 3 sites - Leicester General Hospital, Leicester Royal Infirmary and The Glenfield Hospital

We are looking for team members who demonstrate enthusiasm, an eagerness to learn and to develop themselves. Previous experience is desirable, but not essential as full training is provided.

As a bank Retail Catering Assistant you will become an active member of our team working to provide customer service to our staff and visitors in our busy restaurants.

A good standard of English language both written and oral communication is essential. The successful Team member would beexpected to respect the Trust Values at all times.

Main duties of the job

The role of a Retail Catering Assistant is to work within therestaurants or food outlets within the retail area.Provide a front-of-house service which is customer focusedand includes preparing and providing beverages, snacksmeal items, cash handling, the use of a till, temperaturerecording and restocking of goods.There will be the need for some minimal food preparationwith cleaning and washing up responsibilities.

General Duties

Provide good customer service.

Cash handling and the using of tills.

Maintaining good hygiene practices within the department.

Preparation of drinks and snacks to brand standards

Minimal food preparation as required in the main production kitchen.

Ensuring that food is checked for suitability for special diets.

Working within chilled areas and in wet environments.

Able to accurately record and monitor temperatures to required frequencies.

Washing of crockery and cutlery and catering utensils using industrial machines, also manually washing when required.

Responsibility for ensuring that high standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the work area adhering to Trust policies and procedures.

To carry out cleaning tasks, both specific and generic, to prescribed work schedules for designated areas, in line with Trust policies and procedures

Ensuring the correct and economical use of materials, provisions and equipment and seeking advice from the supervisor when in doubt.

Report to the Team leader any mechanical defects relating to any equipment and any mishaps or untoward incidents.

Adhering to food safety management policies and procedures at all times.

To adhere to Trust infection Control Prevention and Control of Substances Hazard to Health (COSHH) policies in carrying out cleaning tasks. Ensure all cleaning products are stored securely.

To adhere to the Trust colour coding system to prevent cross infection.
