Job summary
Acute Frailty Unit Band 5 Registered Nurses We are looking for dynamic enthusiastic Band 5 nurses to work on the Acute Frailty Unit (16 beds) at the Leicester Royal Infirmary. We are situated on the emergency floor and receive direct admissions from the emergency department. The unit is a fast paced medical environment where you can gain a wealth of experience in acute geriatric medicine. We offer excellent opportunities and support for development. The length of stay for patients is approximately 24 to 48 hours. You will gain knowledge around the discharge process. We work closely to our training and development team. We can offer support to newly qualified nurses (DMU students to apply through clearing) Promotion opportunities/ development Clinical and Specialist training, Rotational posts on the Emergency floor Internal rotation shift patterns are available /full time/part time hours. Main duties of the job
Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of evidence-based nursing care for a group of patients.Assist in and contribute to the management and organisation of a ward/clinical area.Actively contribute to setting and maintaining high standards of quality nursing care.Actively participate in the education, development and supervision of other staff members.Work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families.Act as a clinical and professional role model, mentoring, assessing and supporting students and learners on placement within the clinical area
