Job description

Job responsibilities

You will be responsible for leading and delivering the transformation of OH, MH and WB service provision, with UHL as the primary internal client, whist recognising ICS partners as prospective clients and co-design partners. You will have a particular focus on designing, leading and managing transformation in planning and infrastructure, including corporate development, the necessary digital platforms, quality accreditations, and commissioning and developing a scalable commercial offering locally and beyond.

You will also ensure the programme is aligned to the key actions within the NHS People Plan, Growing OH & WB strategy, Enhanced HWB strategy and any relevant national and international guidance from the Faculty of Occupational Medicine, Society of Occupational Medicine, Health and Safety Executive, British Psychological Society, NICE, etc., that are key to the transformation of UHL OH and MH and WB services, systems and processes, and support the vision that UHL is aspiring to become a lead provider of staff OH, MH and WB services across the LLR ICS and beyond.

You will be expected to demonstrate a clear and thorough understanding of current and future OH, MH and WB opportunities in the health and social care sector, and be able to maximise the commercial opportunities with existing and prospective clients across other industries, with a focus and understanding on the needs of the UHL and existing LLR workforces, given the diverse cultural mix that exists in UHL and the LLR ICS.

You will therefore need to develop strong relationships with LLR ICS stakeholders, as well as the existing and prospective client base.

This post will require exceptional matrix working, delegation and influencing skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues within and outside the UHL and LLR ICS, drawing in expertise as appropriate, to deliver the programme with exceptional political acumen and ensure robust commercial viability.

In support of the above, you will also be able to provide expert guidance to the UHL People Services function and contribute to the design and strategic direction of UHL OH, MH and WB policy.
