Due to a promotion and re-structuring, we are looking for a motivated, creative, compassionate, inspirational individual to lead our speciality of Trauma and Elective Orthopaedics, Hands, Burns and Therapy and Pain Management programme at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust
This is a key role within our Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Senior Leadership team. You will provide professional, operational and strategic leadership to the services in your speciality.
Main duties of the job
Key roles are:
- To be a visible clinical leader, leading on a day-to-day basis; providing direction, effective and inspirational leadership
- Within your job plan, undertake a weekly session of clinical activity in area of clinical experience within the speciality.
- Ensure the achievement of Therapy key performance indicators e,g, waiting lists and response times
- Support and develop the team to achieve its full potential and to ensure the highest standards of service delivery
- Utilise patient feedback to evaluate our services
- Drive transformation change to ensure that clinical outcomes and patient experiences continually improve
- Represent the Therapy services within the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust and the integrated care system
- Drive audit and clinical research within the speciality
- Be responsible for budgets related to your services and the efficient, effective and safe use of equipment and resources used by patients, carers and other staff.
The role offers a dynamic and supportive working environment, with plenty of development opportunities and a supportive leadership team and clinical management group. The role is based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary site however cross site working will be required as Therapy outpatient teams and services are based on each of the three hospital sites. You will join the Therapy manager on call rota.

he post holder will lead, develop and manage the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy staff with the following services:
Inpatient elective orthopaedics (LGH site)
Inpatient Trauma Orthopaedics (LRI site)
Hands OT and PT, Burns and Plastics inpatients and out-patient (GH, LRI and LGH site)
Pain management service (LGH site)
They will ensure excellent patient care, compassionate people leadership and support the CMGs and trust in achieving their objectives.
They will be responsible for transformation and continuous improvement of the services at clinical level within a speciality, being accountable for service delivery, service development and budgetary management within a range of subspecialties and have line management responsibility for the Therapy clinical team leads. They will be responsible for liaison and collaboration with the relevant CMG and external teams to facilitate an integrated, efficient, effective and responsive service.

- Day to day operational management of the services supported by the team leaders.
- Ensure the achievement of therapy KPIs e,g, waiting lists and response times

- Represent the Therapy services with UHL and the integrated care system

- Qualified Allied Health Professional registered with the Health and Care Professions Council Post Graduate Profession Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy-specific qualification to degree level or equivalent
