If so we are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic hard working individual with excellent audio typing skills to work within our busy Ear, Nose & Throat Department at the Leicester Royal Infirmary.
You must be able to work efficiently and with accuracy, providing high quality administration and clerical support ensuring a timely service.
If you are an experienced Audio Typist and would like to work within the NHS, we would like to hear from you.
Main duties of the job
The post holder should be able to work under pressure and have the ability to prioritize their own workload identifying and escalating any problems to the medical secretaries in a timely manner. This post could also include other admin based duties if this becomes necessary to support the demand within the service.
Applicants should be able to manage their own workloads for best effect and work without supervision in a very busy environment whilst maintaining confidentiality at all times. You will work closely with the administration team, clinicians and other departments within the UHL Trust as well as GP's.

Job responsibilities

Ensure accurate and timely typing of clinical and administrative correspondence (clinic letters, discharge summaries, operation notes, audit figures and nonclinical letters) from digital dictation or voice recognition received from the Consultants and medical staff teams.

Respond to prioritised work in appropriate order to ensure work is completed within agreed targets times.

Maintain a separate to do list to be sent back to Medical secretary of tasks the consultant has asked whilst dictating for the Medical secretary to carry out.

Return completed work to the PA/Management Team for signing or further action.

Work as a team member with the secretarial team, establish familiarity of terminology to enable provision of cover for absent colleagues.

Maintain equipment in a satisfactory working condition reporting any faults to delegate representative within the Directorate or reporting directly to the Estates Department for repair.

To actively participate in the sharing of skills and experience within the clerical teams, aiding the spread of good practice.

To attend in-service training or meetings as directed by the Admin Manager to ensure that skills and knowledge are kept up to date and appropriate to the post.
