Job summary

At the present time Your main base will be Leicester Royal Infirmary. The service has two bases one at Leicester Royal Infirmary (South base) and one at City Hospital Nottingham (North Base) The two teams work as one and work flexible on a day to day basis to provide a transport service across the East and West Midlands.

The service however will be moving to a central location in Castle Donington in late 2023, which will then become the base for all transport teams and will be your main base

You may be required to work in other designated locations of the Trust as well as your primary base. In particular, flexibility is required across the three main hospital sites (Leicester Royal Infirmary, Leicester General Hospital and Glenfield Hospital). If your initial location is one of these sites excess travel reimbursement would not apply for a permanent or temporary change of base.

Main duties of the job

  • To work as an effective professional team member at all times
  • To communicate clearly and effectively with members of the multi-disciplinary team within the transport service and the wider referring community.
  • To act as a role model in the delivery of expert clinical care for a given shift on an internal rotation basis.
  • To undertake agreed projects related to research, audit, practice and professional development within the transport setting.
  • To provide clinical supervision of others.
  • To act as a lead specialist working with autonomy to provide expert care.
