We have an exciting opportunity to join the Information Management and Technology (IM&T) department at the University Hospitals of Leicester, as a Benefits Realisation Analyst.We are looking for you tohelp our stakeholders define, measure and report on the benefits delivered from an exciting range of IT-enabled projects including those in our ambitious first-of-type mobile Electronic Patient Record (eHospital) Programme, which the trust is developing in collaboration with Nervecentre.

As our Benefits Realisation Analyst in IM&T, you will be working closely alongsidethe IM&T Change and Benefits Realisation Lead, as well as the Trust's Transformation team, supporting the governance of benefits realisation across our growing programme of works thatdigitally enable the healthcare provision across our Acute hospitalservices and the wider Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Community.

Main duties of the job

The Benefits Realisation Analyst will be accountable for conducting the analytical aspects of the benefits realisation activities for our eHospital (EPR) Programme, as instructed by the Benefits Realisation Lead. You will work alongside the IM&T Benefits Realisation Lead, the Trust's Quality Improvement and Transformational Leads and our stakeholders to define the benefits which result in financial, quality or productive gains for the Trust.

You will help establish initial baselines (current state), expected values, allocate metrics to measure progress along our EPR journey, manage measurement reporting and support with the development of the Benefit Realisation programme.

Job responsibilities

To date we have delivered trust-wide, inpatient handover profile notes, observations, nursing assessments, clinical photography and discharge letters within the Nervecentre application. Furthermore, both Nervecentre's electronic prescribing (eMeds) and Pathology/Radiology requesting (Investigations) modules have been deployed in the last 18 months, to all Adult inpatient wards. In the current financial year (FY23/24), we will be introducing SNOMED coding for diagnosis, nursing care plans, eMeds in paediatrics, case notes and outpatient modules within the Nervecentre application. We are also collaboratively developing Nervecentre's Patient Administration System (PAS). Other novel projects include the UK's first truly Closed Loop Medication Administration (Optimed) project that University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust are piloting alongside Deenova and Nervecentre.Over the next few years, we wish to significantly reduce our reliance on paper notes and this will give us an even greater opportunity to significantly improve our working environment, research capabilities and patient care
