Job summary

An exciting opportunity is available for enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurses to join the established Clinical Nurse Educator team within the UHL School of Nursing and Midwifery Practice.

One post - substantive

Three posts - 12 month secondment

You will work with key members of the Education and Practice Learning Team to support education, training and development initiatives across the Trust

Using your clinical experience you will support new registrants by working alongside them within their clinical areas, supporting and developing them in practice.

You will support the team in preparing for and facilitating formal learning including RN Induction, Preceptorship, HCA induction and OSCE programme held in our dedicated education spaces at the School of Nursing and Midwifery Practice. You will also be involved in staff development projects to support the Trust wide Education and Practice Learning agenda.

You will be an experienced and clinically competent RN with a minimum of 2 years' post registration experience, possess a first Level Degree or have equivalent experience and have evidence of ongoing professional development.

You will hold a previously recognised NMC Teaching and Assessing Programme or equivalent or have experience supporting and assessing learners in practice. The role is mainly Monday - Friday daytime hours however to meet staff and service need there may be some evening and weekend working, and travel cross site and to external venues required.

Main duties of the job

Take a lead role in supporting new staff in their clinical areas and their transition into the trust and newly registered role

Promote staff development and support through Clinical supervision and act as a supervisor.

Ensure all new staff are supported to complete their local induction and development frameworks related to their clinical role

You will possess dynamic facilitation and leadership skills and be able to describe how you have personally and professionally developed over the last 12 months whilst supporting staff in practice, helping the Trust to achieve nursing excellence and becoming the best.

The role will work in collaboration with the School of Nursing and Midwifery Practice education team and our Clinical Management Groups
