Job summary

We are looking for a strongly motivated, active team player, with excellent communication and influencing skills. You will have a great opportunity to develop clinical leadership skills and at the same time gain further experience in the field of specialist paediatric IMD's.
Key components of this role include clinical specialist, leading and managing the paediatric dietetic IMD team, providing clinical leadership into the paediatric IMD MDT and the paediatric Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland paediatric IMD network.

Main duties of the job
As an advanced specialist autonomous practitioner the post holder will provide clinical expertise in the specialist area of paediatric IMD's.
The post holder will lead, develop and manage the paediatric IMD team consisting of two Senior Specialist Dietitians, rotational Senior Dietitians and a Dietetic Assistant Practitioner within this highly specialist area as part of the Dietetic and Nutrition Service. You will have specific responsibility for line management of the Senior Specialist Dietitians.
They will be specifically responsible for liaison and collaboration with the Paediatric Inherited Metabolic Disorders Multi-disciplinary team. The paediatric IMD MDT will include paediatric medical Consultants, local and regional dedicated specialist Nurses, a dedicated Pharmacist, and a regional Psychologist.
They will provide clinical, operational, professional and strategic leadership for the paediatric dietetic IMD team as part of the Dietetic and Nutrition Service Management team, and in doing so will:-
- Ensure the achievement of the paediatric and neonatal dietetic team performance targets
- Drive change to ensure that clinical outcomes and patient experiences continually improve
- Support and develop the team to achieve its full potential and to ensure the highest standards of service delivery
- Represent the Dietetic and Nutrition Service on internal and external groups
- Ensure that the service provides value for money
- Drive quality improvement
