Job summary

The Department of Orthodontics and Restorative Dentistry has a vacancy for a dedicated and conscientious person to join our services in the role of Patient Pathway Coordinator.

This is a varied and interesting role and the post holder will be responsible for the flow of patients through the outpatients department, providing a reception service, the preparation of dental notes and booking and cancelling and rebooking of appointments and clinics.

The right applicant will ideally have previous clerical and customer service experience.You should be enthusiastic, motivated and have excellent communication and organisational skills.You should be able to work well under pressure and have the ability to prioritise your own workload. You will be expected to use your initiative and discretion, have an enthusiasm for your work and an excellent 'team' working ethos which is essential for our service to succeed.

Main duties of the job

Meticulous attention to detail and organisation skills are necessary for this role, as are excellent communication shills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

This post will require working closely with a wide range of staff including Consultants, Nursing Staff and the Admin & Clerical team so the ability to build relationships is a key requirement.

You will be responsible for administering RTT by coordinating all aspects of patients' pathways from referral to treatment, dealing with telephone queries and providing admin-related advice to colleagues and patients.

Experience in HISS would also be desirable but not essential as we will provide training for this.
