Job summary

We are seeking to recruit several Advanced Clinical Practitioners to compliment our current ACP workforce for our established Same Day Emergency Care Unit at the Glenfield Hospital. It currently operates 5 days/week until 10pm, with a view in the future to expand to 7 day working.

This is an opportunity for newly qualified or experienced ACPs to build their knowledge and expertise in cardio respiratory care as well as utilizing prior experience in managing other medical conditions.

Your skill set and qualifications will include advanced clinical assessment, management, consultation and Non-Medical prescribing skills. We will support you in your professional development alongside the 4 pillars of advanced practice.

You will be fully supported in your development of a specialized ACP portfolio to enable you to practice at the top of your scope.

Main duties of the job

As an Advanced Clinical Practitioner you will be working in SDEC demonstrating advanced clinical skills. You will work autonomously assessing, diagnosing and managing urgently referred patients. You will be using your advanced skills to manage, diagnose, treat and prescribe for patients presenting to the unit and use your expert decision making to discharge patients home the same day. You will work collaboratively within a team of GP's, Physician Associates, nurses and healthcare support workers supporting patients on the unit. ensuring the a safe discharge.

You will have opportunity to expand your experience working in other front door settings such as the Clinical Decisions Unit and Glenfield Chest Pain Centre and be fully supported by a senior ACP to meet your full potential.
