Job summary

Band 6 Parkinsons specialist Nurse - 12 month secondment

The purpose of the post is to provide expert specialist clinical practice. The Parkinson's specialist nurse acts as a keyworker for the patient. Will lead in the use of evidence-based clinical practice in line with current research, guidelines and other available evidence. They will ensure that patients and their families are fully informed about their journey through the service. will liaise with other members of the multi-disciplinary team when required to ensure delivery of reliable high quality care.

Main duties of the job

  • Act as the clinical expert and professional resource to the patients and carers and multi-professional team, for the Trust and the wider Healthcare community.
  • Work alongside other specialist nurses / Lead Nurse to ensure the development and delivery of a high quality service.
  • Directly or indirectly influence all aspects of care and management of patients within the service/speciality.
  • Deliver high quality, clinically effective care, and patient experience, utilising research in collaboration with colleagues in everyday practice.
  • Act as a role model and clinical resource demonstrating high standards of care and providing clinical leadership in the specialist area.
  • Support the development and delivery of a programme of practice and professional development for staff within the speciality and the wider Healthcare community.
