Advanced Specialist Midlands Medicines Information Pharmacist
We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic pharmacist who wishes to apply and develop Medicines Information skills and knowledge in a busy, progressive regional medicines information centre.
Main duties of the job
Midlands Medicines Information Service and UK Drugs in Lactation Advisory Service
The post is based in the Midlands Medicines Information Centre at the Leicester Royal Infirmary. The main duties include a wide range of local, regional and national activities, from advising on complex patient-related clinical issues to producing evidence-based publications for both primary and secondary care users, supporting patient safety, cost-effective prescribing and medicines optimisation.
Your roles will be to:
- Provide management and supervision of the day-to-day operational aspects of the Midlands Medicines Information Service, which serves all members of the healthcare professions (primary and secondary care).
- Provide expert specialist advice to healthcare professionals and the public on drugs in lactation as part of the UK Drugs in Lactation Advisory Service
- Act as a deputy to the Midlands Medicines Information Service Manager
- Contribute to working groups within the trust, e.g. Quality and Safety, when required
- Review and develop the training delivered to the wider pharmacy department, UHL and external bodies.
You should have hospital pharmacy post-registration experience with experience of working in medicines information as a pharmacist. You will also hold a postgraduate qualification.
