Do you have a keen interest in all aspects of adult Gastro-Medicine and Nutritional Support within an acute specialist hospital setting?
An exciting opportunity for a Senior Dietitian to work in the friendly Nutrition and Dietetic Service Adult team based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary (LRI), University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust (UHL Trust). This post will provide a pro-active and co-ordinated nutrition and dietetic service to patients within the gastroenterology specialties in UHL Trust. Caseload will include adult in-patients on Gastro-medicine wards, outpatient clinics (dietetic and jointly with Consultants) and structured education sessions for newly diagnosed coeliac patients. There will be an opportunity to help develop the role of the Dietitian within the multi-professional team as you are highly regarded and valued by the Consultant Gastroenterologists in the specialty.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for the development and provision of a high quality, evidence based, effective nutrition and dietetic service, for adult gastro medicine patients and other inpatients requiring nutritional support. To work as part of the Nutrition and Dietetic Service, Clinical Support and Imaging CMG and Cancer, Haematology, Urology , Gastroenterology and Surgery (CHUGS) CMG, at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust (UHL NHS Trust).
To provide a Nutrition and Dietetic Service to adult patients and their families and carers whilst they are under the care of Consultant teams. The post holder will also provide continuity of care across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland healthcare community, and advise other Dietitians and healthcare professionals on nutrition and diet matters.
