Hours: Mon - Fri (plus weekend and bank holiday roster)

Due to the nature of the interview, no remote interviews will be held

Post holders will be required to work their core hours Monday to Friday. In addition, you will also be required to work Saturdays on a roster system (Approximately 1:10 weekends)

You will need to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will need to be motivated, organised and able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team. You will need to have had experience of working with a variety of different people. Clerical experience and the ability to use computers are desirable in these posts, as some administrative and clerical duties are involved. Previous experience in therapy is desirable, however work experience in a healthcare setting will be considered if appropriate.

You must have equivalent of Grade C or above at GCSE in English and Maths.

This post is entry level into the therapy speciality and opens the doors to progression into higher band posts and potentially into a qualified physiotherapist via the apprenticeship programme. You will be supported in your career choice and encouraged to take up opportunities as they arise.

Main duties of the job

  • Providing rehabilitation for patients in hospital who have had a stroke.
  • Working alongside qualified therapists to achieve the best results for the patients.
  • Recording information and data using written medical notes and electronic systems.
  • The assistant role is to support a multi-disciplinary team providing stroke rehabilitation to assist patients to improve their abilities before being discharged home by working under the guidance of qualified Physiotherapists.
