Applications are invited for the post of High Cost Drugs Data Analyst/ Service Coordinator based at Lincoln County Hospital.

You will need to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and have experience working in a hospital or community healthcare setting.
Training and development of this role will be provided on the job. The role will deal with drug datasets, as well as relaying drug names and medical conditions on a daily basis, so this is something you will need to be comfortable and confident with.
This post will support the High Cost Drugs team that work across the Trust , in maintaining high quality high cost drugs datasets and systems, and delivering various high cost drugs initiatives. This work affects the functioning of modern healthcare as we know it and involves collaboration across specialities and functions. The post will be based at Lincoln County Hospital, but the successful applicants may need to travel to other sites within the Trust.
The use of high cost drugs is a significant cost pressure to the NHS. This role will be key in supporting high cost drugs cost improvement programmes and medicine savings across Lincolnshire.
This is a 12-month, fixed-term position.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for organising reports, paperwork, actions, and communications for key meetings with regards to High Cost Drugs and delivery of the service, and providing high quality administrative and data analysis support relating to medicine expenditure and savings.
Work as a member of the High Cost Drugs team, you will be pivotal in assisting the team in working with specialities and specialist pharmacists, by participating in the collection and reporting of data through an agreed programme for High Cost Drugs within the Trust. Your role will involve undertaking High Cost Drugs surveillance, maintaining databases, preparing reports, coordinating meetings and document submissions, and supporting investigation of High Cost Drugs issues.
Based in the office for a significant part of the day, you will need to be able to work unsupervised, under pressure and prioritise according to deadlines and urgency. Following any necessary training you will be given the opportunity to gain experience in organising and/or delivering educational sessions, with support from senior pharmacists within the team. Occasionally, you will be on the wards/clinic to be involved in audit and help relay important messages to improve patient care and safety. This is a new role which will always be challenging and very demanding , but also rewarding in equal measure, with clear deliverables on medicines management and savings within the 12-month period.

This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.
The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).
