Are you a Pharmacist with a strong history of project delivery who's seeking a new challenge? We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pharmacist to manage our High Cost Drug programme and biosimilar switching projects.
The use of high cost drugs is a significant cost pressure to the NHS. This role will include a significant role in delivering savings across Lincolnshire by implementing the use of biosimilar or generic products, releasing key savings back into the NHS.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a Pharmacist to be responsible for implementing and managing the processes for approval, appropriate use and audit of high cost drugs, including biosimilar drugs and chemotherapy. You will work closely with our Project Lead Pharmacy Technician for biosimilar switches, Procurement team, and clinical teams, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on the management of High Cost Drugs and implementation of biosimilar switches.
You will be responsible for providing expert medicines management information to decision makers, senior managers and advising clinicians on prescribing protocols.
You will support horizon scanning and identify upcoming product releases that will have significant financial benefits to the NHS and develop implementation plans to ensure the swift utilisation of these products, using EMIS and the Blueteq database to project impact of upcoming product releases on budgets and annual high cost drug budget.

This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.
The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).
