Job summary

We are looking for a Consultant Mammogrpaher for the Breast Imaging service..

This role requires an individual with passion, commitment, excellent communication skills, vision and the desire to drive standards and lead on service improvement. You will support the breast services and divisional management team, in providing high quality, advanced clinical care.

You will support the senior management team within the breast imaging departments to deliver a service that meets both national and local performance targets and standards. The post holder will be a key stakeholder in the development and improvement of enhanced and advanced practice undertaken by clinical colleagues.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to support effective strategic and operational management in delivering a robust, safe and forward thinking service for service users with the allocated resources available.

The Consultant Mammographer will take an active role in research and development, training and education and leadership and management. They will be an autonomous and independent practitioner with the clinical skills, knowledge and education to support their practice. Continually evidencing and upholding the four pillars of advanced clinical practice.

Pilgrim Hospital is situated beautiful countryside and serves the communities in the South Lincolnshire area. It provides all major specialties and a 24-hour major accident and emergency service.

Grantham and District Hospital serves the communities of Grantham and the local area. It provides ambulatory paediatric and accident and emergency services.

Lincoln Hospital is a thriving university city and with the opening of the medical school, it provides all major specialties and a 24-hour major accident and emergency service

Essential

  • Bsc (Hons) Radiography or DCR in Diagnostic Radiography
  • HCPC or equivalent professional registration
  • IELTS Level 7, CEFR level C1 if English not primary language.
  • Master's Degree in Breast Imaging or related Health Care Science
  • Post graduate qualification in mammography

Desirable

  • Doctoral level studies
  • Accreditation with the Society of Radiographers

Previous Experience

Essential

  • Previous management experience at senior level.
  • Extensive post qualification experience in Mammography
  • Experienced in Mammography Screen Reading
  • Experience in Breast Ultrasound
  • Experience in both u/s or stereotactic guided interventional procedures
  • Experience of training students/staff
  • Evidence of ongoing CPD

  • Knowledge of the NHS and NHSBSP current policies and legislation affecting service delivery.
  • Effective communicator.
  • IT skills including knowledge of Windows and Office.
  • Ability to work to a high standard both technically and in patient Care.
