Clinical Lead Neurology

Job summary

The Clinical Lead will be responsible for providing operational and strategic business planning and leadership to ensure that the specialty provides high quality patient care and achieves its performance objectives. This will include accountability for high quality patient care, patient safety, clinical quality and governance, the delivery of agreed performance and financial objectives, and ensuring that the specialty operates with the needs of patients as its highest priority.

Specifically the Clinical Lead will be accountable to the Divisional Clinical Director for providing senioroperational and strategic leadership and willbe accountable for the operational performance and strategic development of the area. This willinclude accountability for the delivery of high quality patient care, clinical governance, patient safety,clinical quality and delivery of improved financial efficiency. In undertaking the duties for this post the post holder must comply with the Department of Health's code of conduct for NHS Managers (October 2002).

Main duties of the job

You will ideally have experience of working at a management level within a service and be able to demonstrate a range of skills that could include experience of decision making with regards to quality of care and patient pathways, budget management, staff management, managing competing workloads and experience of advising others.
