Job summary

The Audiology service in Lincolnshire is offering an exciting opportunity for a qualified Paediatric Audiologist to join our team on the Bank at United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust. Support and professional development in special interest areas will be offered by the team of highly qualified Audiologists.

Good communication skills are essential, together with the skills to provide excellent patient care and make clinical decisions as you will be required to work both solo and as part of a team.

This post is suitable for experienced Audiologists.

Main duties of the job

To assist in complex and non-routine cases such as those with multiple disabilities and severe communication difficulties. Performing hearing and auditory function tests to include pure tone audiometry, tympanometry, acoustic reflex testing and speech audiometry.

Carry out examination of the ear by Otoscopy and Video otoscopy in patients including complex cases, to identify the anatomy of an individual's ear, any abnormalities or pathology.Analyse results to determine the next stage of diagnostics required, and to problem solve inconsistent or erroneous findings.

Maintaining their own professional development including knowledge and skills needed to accommodate changes in technology and clinical procedures. They will also assist with specialist clinical tasks and consult with the Audiology Manager on changes to this Job Description.

Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) have come together in a Group arrangement, with the goal of improving the care provided to patients across the county.

This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.

The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).
