An exciting opportunity for a Clinical Health Care Support Worker has arisen to join our acute medical short stay ward at Pilgrim Hospital. We are a 32 bedded unit .

Working under delegation and supervision of a registered Nursethe Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) will undertake defined responsibilities appropriate to their role in the workplace setting.They will comply with Trust policies, protocols, guidelines, the fifteen standards of the Care Certificate and the national strategy of Compassion in Practice and will ensure safe, compassionate and competent care is delivered to our patients and service users at all times.It is a requirement of United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust that all HCSWs adhere to the Code of Conduct for healthcare support workers and adult social care workers.

Main duties of the job

Successful substantive Healthcare Support Workers will benefit from further training opportunities which form part of the ULHT Nursing Career Development Pathway which can ultimately lead to becoming a Registered Nurse.

As a Health Care Support Worker, you will be responsible for Working under delegation and supervision of a Registered Nurse in delivering a high standard of care to our patients in accordance with individualise care needs, utilising flexible, innovate and effective practice that demonstrates that our patients are at the centre of everything we do.

All CHCSW will be supported in completing the Care Certificate, which can be used to support applications to higher learning (Nurse Associate).

This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.

The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).
