Job summary

The Deputy Director of Corporate Affairs, will support the Group Director of Corporate Affairs in providing strategic and operational management of Lincolnshire Community Health Services Trust and United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust (the Group) corporate business affairs, integrated governance, corporate business processes and related internal systems.

The post holder will provide assurance on compliance with relevant legislative, regulatory and governance framework. The post holder will provide oversight on changes and the impact on each of the Trust's activities, ensuring that each of the Trust's corporate affairs are undertaken to the highest standards of probity and according to statutory and legislative requirements and ensuring the Group Board are briefed appropriately.

The post holder will be required to deputise as the principal advisor to the Group Board, Group executive leadership team, and the organisation in all aspects of corporate governance, communicating with internal colleagues and external stakeholders, ensuring the Trusts complies with their statutory and regulatory duties. The post holder will in support of the Director of Corporate Affairs provide leadership to the Information Governance, Corporate Governance and Legal functions of the two organisations.

Main duties of the job

  • Identify and provide oversight of emerging issues, changes in legislative, regulatory and governance framework which could have an impact on each organisation and the Group, providing detailed briefing to the Director of Corporate Affairs, Group Board or Group executive leadership team as appropriate.
  • Support the Director of Corporate Affairs in facilitating the effective working of the Group Board, the Group executive leadership team, and related Committees
  • Provide effective leadership and direction to the teams reporting to the post including corporate governance, executive assistant teams, legal teams and information governance.

Grantham and District Hospital serves the communities of Grantham and the local area. It provides ambulatory paediatric and accident and emergency services.

Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) have come together in a Group arrangement, with the goal of improving the care provided to patients across the county.

This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.

The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).

  • ICSA Health Service Governance Qualification

  • Understanding of Freedom of Information Act 2010 and responsibilities on public services.
  • Established working knowledge of the role of Boards and Council of Governors and the duties placed upon them.
  • Knowledge of risk management and internal control frameworks.
  • Significant Knowledge of legislation and statutory responsibilities including Freedom of Information, and Declarations of Interest.
