Job summary

Ward 7A is a health care of the older person's ward that specialises in caring for patients over the age of 75 with complex care needs. The role of the health care support worker is working alongside and under the supervision of a Registered General Nurse you will undertake a range of duties supporting the Registered Nurse with providing high standards of individualised and holistic care to the older person.

Main duties of the job

With a basic general secondary education, you will be able to demonstrate key skills in literacy and numeracy and be able to manage time effectively. You will also have good communication skills; be able to use your own initiative; and work effectively on an individual basis as well as part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team in a demanding and busy environment. You will have a flexible approach to work and must be able to undertake shift work.

Previous experience is not essential as support will be provided to develop knowledge, skills and understanding to ensure the delivery of a first class service to our patients. You will be committed to on going personal and career development; be willing to undertake The Care Certificate if not already attained; and any other further education, training and development relevant to the post.
