Job summary
We have a wide procurement team at United Lincolnshire Hospitals, comprising a clinical procurement team & clinical procurement specialist team, non-clinical team (indirect procurement), operational team, capital, estates & facilities team and the Materials Management team. We are seeking to appoint the Deputy Head of Supply Chain for the Materials Management Team pan-trust. You will lead a newly formed team to assist the procurement vision to deliver a state of the art inventory management system with an aggressive strategic and operational plan to achieve and maintain this.
The Deputy Head of Supply Chain is a senior member of staff within the Procurement Team who will play an active role in the management, delivery and maintenance of the new Inventory Management System (IMS) project in support of the Trusts business and service objectives.
Responsibilities for:-
The procurement, development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of the IMS
The immediate facilitation of IMS deployment and longer term absorption of the Project & Systems teams into the Materials Management function.
Ensuring that organisational change drives the project requirements and achieves benefit realisation
Providing BAU provision to the IMS Project, Systems and Materials Management teams post IMS implementation
Providing managerial support and leadership to the IMS Project & Systems teams
Main duties of the job
We are searching for an experienced supply chain professional who is looking for an exciting new challenge to be part of the senior Materials Management Team. You will be responsible for management, development and leadership of the business change and administration team and set the strategies for deploying inventory management systems in a variety of stock control areas, working closely with the Head of Supply Chain, Materials Management site managers and fellow clinical, non-clinical and operational procurement teams. The scope of operational work managed by this team is significant - encompassing the full roll out and maintenance of an inventory management system across ULHT. The department already maintains the highest standards of stock management across all areas of the hospital from Theatres to A&E and beyond but is looking to revolutionise current methodologies to transform the control and flow of consumables entering and leaving the hospitals. The team will lead the support for internal stakeholders by managing the inventory system, the e-catalogue and enacting meaningful operational and strategic change by generating ideas for savings and service improvement for patients, whilst ensuring we meet the Trust values and standards.

This role will require operational working at all Trust sites.
We work in the beautiful and thriving City of Lincoln, and form part of the supply chain for 3 acute hospitals - Lincoln County Hospital, Pilgrim Hospital Boston, and Grantham and District Hospital. The Trust also provides a wide variety of outpatient, day case and inpatient services from a range of other community hospitals operated by Lincolnshire Community Health Services or local GP clusters. These include: Louth County Hospital, John Coupland Hospital (Gainsborough), Johnson Community Hospital (Spalding), Skegness and District General Hospital and the newly formed Lincoln, Grantham & Skegness Community Diagnostic Centres.
