Job summary
We are seeking to appoint a clinical scientist specialist and Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) for ionising imagingfor the Trust.
Main duties of the job
The post holder's main role will be providing expert advice on safety, QA and imaging protocols for medical equipment emitting ionising radiation, including dose optimisation. The post holder will have the opportunity to participate in radiation protection services for both ionising and non-ionising, including ultrasound and MRI.
The successful candidate will join a friendly team of scientists and technologists providing comprehensive diagnostic radiology and radiation protection support to users of radiation. All staff within the team are encouraged to contribute towards the development of the service and the introduction of new imaging technologies and techniques. The department actively encourages scientific development and professional activities. You will need excellent communication and organisational skills, together with a demonstrable ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. The post holder will be based at Lincoln and be able to travel to other hospitals in the area.
