Job summary

A Procurement & Materials Management Officer Band 4, based at Grantham & District Hospital.

- Assist in the day to day supervision of all Procurement & Materials Management Assistants at Grantham & District hospital.

- Ensure all Stores and Materials Management services are operated according to the most cost effective methodology.

- Provide a Materials Management and Stores service to Grantham Theatres, wards and departments.

- Develop, and maintain, relationships with staff in end-user departments to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction with the service provided.

- Continually strive for best practice, bring innovation, and more effective ways of working in everything the department undertakes.

Main duties of the job

To supervise on a day to day basis to Procurement / Materials Management staff.

To assist in providing cover for any post within the stores and Materials Management service.

To liaise with key customers about any aspect of the delivery of the supply chain service, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction with that service.

To ensure the trust's Materials Management and Stores service is constantly reviewed to ensure the staff involved are following agreed procedures. Assist in monitoring stock levels at the point of use. Produce stock reports and analysis as required that feed into the Procurement dashboard.

To ensure the trust's stores receipt and distribution points are constantly reviewed to ensure the staff involved are following agreed procedures. Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and on time.

  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of moving and handling techniques
  • Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) Level 3 or Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILT)
  • Level 3, plus knowledge of contract law acquired through short courses and experience or equivalent.
