United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) are seeking a highly motivated Estates Craftsperson (Joiner/Buildings Bias) who will be based at Lincoln County Hospital. The post holder is required to play a proactive part within the Estates Technical team to meet Trust objectives in a safe, cost effective, efficient manner in compliance with legislation and good practice.

Main duties of the job

Job Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and responsive maintenance of the building fabric, fixtures and fittings, throughout the hospital estate. The following list is not exhaustive but the duties will include for example: flooring, cladding, doors, ironmongery, windows, roof lights, hand rails, wall protection, shelves, furniture, manufacture of signs, road marking, road repairs, curtain tracks, painting. Fit and maintain special floor coverings ie: antistatic floors, ceramic tiles, laminate floors, vinyl type floors, carpets and carpet tiles.
  • Fire Door Inspections (training will be provided as required)
  • Fire Door Remedial activities (training will be provided as required)
  • Installing and maintaining door and window furniture
  • General building maintenance incl. minor decoration repairs, minor painting, window repairs etc
  • Maintenance and repairs of joinery related actions
  • Installation of doors, shelves and other joinery related elements
  • Heating Ventilation maintenance (where trained to do so)
  • Fire Alarm testing (where trained)
  • Emergency Lift release (where trained)

Essential

  • Appropriate City and Guilds Qualification, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in relevant joinery or building trade qualification
  • Served an apprenticeship or other recognised training.

Desirable

  • Healthcare experience
  • Fire door Maintainer and or inspector qualifications
  • Additional Hospital Engineering related certified training

Previous Experience (Nature & Level)

  • Demonstrable experience in building maintenance
