If so, then this position in Clinical Engineering, to develop the skills and competencies necessary to keep medical equipment 'fit for purpose' might be the right job for you.
The minimum qualifications are A Level or equivalent academic qualifications in science, engineering or maths. Alternatively, you may have an equivalent level of practical experience. You may even have a degree in an appropriate science or engineering subject.
Starting Band, 4 (Trainee) 5/6 (Qualified and experienced technician) dependant on experience and qualifications directly relating to medical equipment.
Main duties of the job
Clinical Engineering at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust is an Accredited Training Centre in Medical Engineering and the successful candidate will be put through an appropriate training programme progressively building competence and confidence in the safe maintenance of medical equipment.
Your qualifications and experience will determine the best option for you to develop your academic (if necessary) and experiential training so that you can join the national Register of Clinical Technologists (RCT) in due course. There might be additional distance learning to NVQ level 3 standard or a degree in medical engineering funded by the Trust.
Excellent communication skills are essential.
Basic ICT connectivity skills are essential.
Informal visits to the department are encouraged.
