We have an exciting opportunity for Clinical Coders to join our experienced team on a hybrid working basis. Working across a range of specialties our Clinical Coders provide an expert Clinical Coding service for all 4 United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust sites.

Our coding team has a broad range of experience and includes Senior Coders and Divisional Lead Coders. Offering a broad range of mentoring and support.

These Hybrid roles are predominantly office based with 1 day working from home.

To succeed as a Clinical Coder, you will need:

  • Experience of working in a clinical coding department o Accredited Clinical Coder (ACC) status or be actively working towards achieving this within the next 18 months.
  • Experienced in the use of ICD-10 and OPCS-4 coding classifications
  • o Good knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology o
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a larger/virtual team
  • o Competent and confident to work primarily in the office, with 1 day at home with the flexibility to be able to travel on site when needed.

Main duties of the job

As our Clinical Coder you will:

  • Provide a Clinical Coding service for all 4 United Lincolnshire NHS Hospitals Trust sites.
  • Assign ICD-10 and OPCS-4 codes to hospital episodes covering NHS activity.
  • Access various information systems, e.g. pathology/radiology, to obtain further information to ensure completeness and accuracy of coding for a wide range of clinical specialties.

o Escalate any issues to the Senior Clinical Coders or Clinical Coding Manager, when appropriate
