Job summary

This is a busy time for the Digital Services Department & the successful applicant will gain experience of anumber of systems & support the continued improvement of our infrastructure & security systems contributing to these projects including the rollout of Windows 10 & VDI. You will be expected to work largely independently on the task or project that you're assigned to.

You must be educated to Degree level or equivalent in a computing related field or have gained equivalent experience. Good knowledge of the use and configuration of Windows 7/10 and Microsoft Office Products is essential, as is experience with the configuration/installation of PC applications, peripherals & hardware.

You will be required to take part in an "On-call" Rota - providing support to key hospital systems out of hours & must be flexible to the needs of the Digital Services Department which will require you to travel to all sites in order to meet the demands of the service users.

Main duties of the job

The Trust covers 3 geographically dispersed sites within Lincolnshire and has extensive data networks delivering ICT services to approximately 8000 staff. We wish to appoint Digital Services Engineer to work within the Digital Service Delivery Team. The principal role of this position is to provide technical support, maintenance and advice on the following:

  • All ICT equipment within the Trust.
  • Desktop Software and Operating Systems.
  • Trust and Departmental applications.
  • 1st, 2nd,3rd line technical support by phone, remotely, and visits.
  • Support of telephony equipment.
  • To contribute towards the delivery of an efficient Digital Service in a professional and customer focused manner.
  • To deploy new ICT hardware, software and peripherals.
  • To be given responsibility for key ICT systems or departmental clinical/non-clinical applications.
  • Provide an out of hours on call service for critical systems and services.
  • To support department and Trust projects.
  • Support, develop and train more junior staff.
  • To support the Trusts cyber security improvement projects.
