Job summary
This new post provides an opportunity to lead the acute dietetic team at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston. You provide the leadership and operational management of the dietetic and support team providing in and out-patient adult dietetic services from the Pilgrim Hospital site.
You will communicate well and at a high level to support the team to deliver high quality clinical care. You will work closely with the Site Lead Dietitian.
You will continue to manage a clinical caseload within an agreed speciality.
Main duties of the job
Support Pilgrim dietetics team to provide a service to adult patients requiring dietetic care and support in the hospital, including inpatients and outpatients. The clinical caseload of the post-holder will include patients from these groups.
To provide a specialist, cost efficient and high quality nutrition and dietetic service to hospital in patients and outpatients working closely others involved in the care of these patients and in accordance with local and national guidance.
Provision of day to day management and ensuring appropriate levels of supervision and appraisal are in place for staff within the clinical team.
Manage staff rosters.
To contribute to the development and evaluation of the post.
Work with the Site or Trust Lead in order to manage the Dietetic Service performance within the area of speciality.
To provide advice on the appropriate use of specialist dietary products, equipment, feeding tubes, their care and possible complications.
To contribute to, initiate and develop Trust policies and procedures relevant to the patient demographic evidencing evidence based best practice.
To provide assessments of nutritional status and reduce the risk of malnutrition in the caseload.
To provide training on relevant dietetic topics for patients, carers and staff members.
