Job summary

We are looking to recruit to the post of Ward Sister/ Charge Nurse to join our existing team. This is an exciting opportunity to be influential in ensuring that we are providing a positive patient experience and in developing the successful candidate's career. The post holder will provide authoritative leadership to ensure Cardiac Short Stay continues to provide high quality evidence based care.

Candidates must be extremely motivated and committed to providing the highest standard of nursing care. They must be able to demonstrate how they have used their clinical expertise in not only the delivery of nursing care but in their ability to improve the skills and knowledge of junior staff. They must be flexible, assertive, and confident and have the ability to provide expert clinical advice in acute situations

You must be experienced in nursing patients with Coronary Heart Disease and be in possession of, or working towards a degree. It is essential that you have the skills required to assess cardiology patients and should possess expert knowledge in ECG interpretation & be an Advanced Life Support Provider or willing to complete this training.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be expected to manage Cardiac Short Stay & be able to work closely with the Coronary Care Unit, Johnson Ward, Cardiac Catheter Laboratory, Cardiology Consultants & Cardiac Practitioners. The candidate will be expected to actively participate in the management of change, particularly in relation to the development of cardiology services.
