Main duties of the job

The Community Paediatric Service in Lincolnshire is part of a combined Children's Service provided by United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust. The Trust is responsible for the provision of a comprehensive range of services to the local population of 680,000. The successful applicant must be willing to work in any of the Trust's locations or outreach District General Hospital clinics. Consideration will be given to candidates wishing to work at either Pilgrim Hospital, Boston or Grantham Hospital, Grantham.

The Community Paediatric Service is a secondary care consultant led service delivered by experienced doctors trained in paediatrics and child health with specialist skills in

  2. Childhood Disabilities
  3. Safeguarding Children
  4. Learning disabilities
  5. Behavioural problems/ADHD
  6. Autistic Spectrum Disorder

Children are referred by General Practitioners, Education, and Social Care. Doctors work within defined geographical areas and are encouraged to have specific areas of interest. Children are seen in a variety of settings i.e. hospital clinic, community clinic and school.

Full GMC registration, on Specialist Register or actively working towards CCT at time of interview with completion anticipated within the duration of this initial contract.

Broad training and experience in paediatrics/community child heath with experience in ADHD and autism assessment and management, assessment and management of Neurodisability conditions and completing Looked after medicals.
