We operate 4 hospital sites and deliver services in a range of other settings; we employ around 7,800 staff, and have a turnover in excess of £400m per annum.

These exciting posts are open to band 2 and 3 staff in health care or clinical based roles and offer the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise to a band 4 level. Once qualified, the Nursing Associate role will bridge the gap between a healthcare assistant and a graduate Registered Nurse, providing you with a structured career path. The role will be regulated by the NMC.

About the Role

The Nursing Associate role is a new role that will sit alongside existing registered nurses and nursing care support workers- to deliver hands-on care for patients. The role will bridge the gap between health and care support workers, who have a care certificate and graduate registered nurses and offers opportunities for health care assistants to progress into nursing roles

As a trainee for this role you will be full time for 2 years. The education will be provided by University of Lincoln and will lead to a Diploma in Higher Education : Level 5

If successful you will:

  • Have the opportunity to study for a fully funded 2 year Diploma in HE Level 5
  • Gain both academic and work-based learning, supporting you to develop your skills and knowledge
  • Undertake a number of placements across a diverse range of specialisms and venues
  • Be provided with support during your practice placements and during your time at the University of Lincoln
  • Have the opportunity to take part in a brand new, innovative programme, offering hands on practical experience, underpinned by theoretical knowledge
  • Be able to continue on the Nursing Career Development Pathway to becoming a Registered Nurse if successful

Annual leave will only be able to be taken at times when there is no planned curricula activity, and these times are evenly spread across the 2 year programme.

You must be committed to working a full range of shifts.

100% Course attendance is mandatory

As a prerequisite you will: MUST have GCSEs Grade A* C in Maths and English or key skills level 2 in Maths and English or equivalent - certificates will be requested Have relevant and demonstrable experience in a health/ Social care setting Be able and willing to travel across different care settings and sites delivered by us and those of our partner Trusts Demonstrate both our Trust values and the Six C's Be keen to champion outstanding care

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a Values Based Recruitment session which will consist of an interview exercise and 1:1 interview. Normal recruitment checks will also be required including evidencing your qualification certificates so please ensure you have these handy to speed up the recruitment process. If successful, you will then be put forward for a second interview at University of Lincoln, and if successful offered a place on the course which is expected to start beginning of 2022.
