Job summary
The department of Clinical Oncology provides in-patient and out-patient care to patients with oncological malignancies, with the Radiotherapy Department treating patients from a wide geographical area, covering the whole of Lincolnshire. The department is fully networked with 3 Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators all with AlignRT motion management, Toshiba wide bore CT scanner and Nucleatron HDR brachytherapy unit. Planning is carried out using Varian Eclipse planning systems ensuring a seamless connection with the treatment units. IGRT and VMAT is in regular use for a variety of patient with delivery techniques advancing all the time.
Ongoing professional development is encouraged, with links to Sheffield Hallam University to support this.
Main duties of the job
We are looking to appoint a highly motivated radiographer to join our busy, friendly Radiotherapy team. The post holder will assist in the provision of a high quality Radiotherapy service by working as part of the radiographic team on all the treatment units (linear accelerators) and in the pre-treatment area (CT simulator & palliative virtual simulation) on a rotational basis.
What were looking for..
The ideal candidate will have a BSc (Hons) in Radiotherapy and Oncology, and be registered with the HCPC. He/she will have had experience as a band 5 or ready to gain this experience in their 1st post, have good organisational skills and be able to develop good working relationships with all disciplines. Good communication skills and the ability to work under pressure are also required.
