Job summary

VACANCY BAND 2 PHYSIOTHERAPY ASSISTANT

We are recruiting a part time Band 2 Physiotherapy Assistant to be based at Grantham Hospital. The successful applicant with join the Therapy Team consisting of Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist.

The post will be a maximum of 28 hours a week and will work as part of a 7 day service and rotate between Medical//e/Orthopaedics and Aqua Therapy.

The post holder will work closely with the multidisciplinary team including medical staff, nursing staff, occupational therapists, speech therapists and dieticians. They will also be encouraged to liaise with other agencies that support patients and their families.

Our mission is to make a positive difference in patient's lives through the use of specialist and individualised therapy in partnership with the MDT, the patient and their family.

The applicant should be able to cope with the demands of a busy workload, be able to work with patients who are acutely ill.

Main duties of the job

Duties will include:

  • To undertake support work to aid the rehabilitation of patients.
  • To accept patients referred by the Physiotherapist and continue their treatment plan under the direct supervision of the physiotherapist
  • Treat patients according to set treatment protocols, monitoring progression and make minor alterations as required under the direct supervision of the Physiotherapist
  • Reporting back patient progress, informing the Physiotherapist of any problems or concerns.

  • 5 GCSE's at Grade C or equivalent including English language and Maths

  • NVQ 2 in Health Care ( or equivalent
