Job summary
The post holder will work as part of a small team of energy and sustainability specialists, responsible for embedding sustainable practices and climate adaptation measures across all areas of the organisation in response to a changing climate. The role will be based at HUTH but may involve group wide exposure supporting both Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust in its NetZero aims.
Main duties of the job
Data collection, analysis and reporting; presenting data in a clear and attractive format, for example monthly energy performance reports
Assist with the creation and implementation of plans and projects to reduce the carbon footprint of the group
Complete internal audits, surveys and checks e.g. energy monitoring
Assist in reviewing policies and practices in light of new / changing regulation, best practice and Trust policy
Assist in the creation and delivery of awareness days, behaviour change campaigns and presentations to staff about best practice
Act as a Sustainability ambassador, proactively engaging with our staff about all sustainability projects and initiatives.
Follow all relevant policies and procedures.
Manage own time effectively.
Maintain confidentiality of information gained in the execution of their duties.
Comply with Health & Safety legislation, and Trust and Departmental H&S Policies and attend mandatory training sessions.
Initial fixed term apprenticeship contract for 18 months.
Knowledge, Training and Experience
Accountable for successfully completing the Level 3 Junior Energy Manager apprenticeship and delivering work programmes to evidence progress in support of this.
Communications
Communicate effectively with staff from both Estates Facilities & Development and other areas of the group.
Develop a relationship with Communications team to promote sustainability work.
