Oncology and Haematology Day Unit Care Co-Ordinator

Job summary
The post holder will work collaboratively as part of the Oncology and Haematology Day Treatment Unit team. Providing administration support to assist in ensuring the Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) patient pathway is managed effectively.
It is expected that they will work collaboratively with the Oncologists/Haematologists, SACT Clinical Nurse Specialist and pharmacy team to ensure all SACT electronic prescriptions are prescribed.
The post holder shall provide comprehensive organisational and administrative support to the Oncology and Haematology staff.
Main duties of the job
Working in conjunction with the booking office and the wider team to ensure the smooth day to day operational management of SACT referrals and appointments of new patients and assist in the treatment pathway coordination for patients receiving treatment shall be an important part of the role.
The post holder must be highly experienced and fully conversant and competent in all the features of the Varian Aria Electronic Prescribing system, including scheduling of SACT appointments and the SACT patient pathway.
The post holder will be expected to triage patients concerns and escalate when appropriate to senior members of staff.
